Infill Puts Laptop In Your Dashboard

With all the electronics in your car already, why not throw in an entire PC? From Korea, Maxan has created INFILL, touted as the world’s first in-car PC. Designed to take the space of your car’s audio or GPS system, INFILL includes those functions, plus TV, movie player and desktop PC functions. It runs on Windows XP Home edition (Microsoft better get busy on a “Car edition”). The 7″ widescreen monitor is a touchscreen for (relatively) easy navigation.
The theory is, if you’re stuck in a REALLY bad traffic jam, why not just set up shop and surf the web or run your budget spreadsheet right there on the freeway? Product will retail for about $2,000 although availability in the U.S. is still undetermined at this point.
Good for 40 gigs or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
