The first Dell laptop explosion that I read about was in the Inquirer.   I am a bit skeptical but kept my mind open for the posibility of real exploding laptops.   Now, I was browsing Gizmodo and saw another laptop exploded.

This made me believe that there is really something wrong with Dell laptops.  It wasn’t stated what model it was.  Last December there were battery recalls for Dell laptops.  Could this be the culprit?

Good thing I didn’t buy a Dell laptop just a week or two ago.  There was this awesome 10 days of very good deals.  I saw this $699 Dual Core Dell promo and was very tempted to purchase one.  I was having second thoughts of buying it because I might not be able to use it fully.  It is a “nice to have” rather than a “need to have” as of the moment.

Now with this news going around,  I think I’d better go for a Toshiba, HP, or IBM.
