Apple Recalls MacBook Pro Batteries
Published by John July 31st, 2006 in Laptops
Amidst stories of exploding Dell laptops, Apple is declaring a battery exchange program for its 15-inch MacBook Pro machines, mostly sold from between February and May of this year. (Dell had a similar laptop battery recall last December.]
The Apple MacBook Pro recall affects Model A1175 batteries with 12-digit serial numbers ending in U7SA, U7SB or U7SC. According to Apple the batteries involved in this exchange program do not pose a safety risk, they simply fail to meet Apple’s “high standards for battery performance”. No other MacBook Pro or MacBook batteries are involved.
