After the much talked about Dell battery recall, Apple is also doing a 1.8 million battery recall. Apple said it has received nine reports of battery packs overheating including 2 cases of people who suffered some minor burns. No laptops on fire though. The battery was also made by Sony.

In both Dell and Apple battery recalls, it involved Sony’s lithium-ion batteries. According to study, the manufacturing process introduced metal particles into batteries and the presence of such particles call cause computers to short circuit or in extreme instances, catch fire.

I believe somebody from Sony will take the heat again.
