I-Deck: Album Art Revived
Published by Noel August 31st, 2006 in Others, MP3 Players
Today’s mp3 generation will most probably know of album art only through that little thumbnail that appears on the iPod screen or at the corner of a media player. Now, an innovation from English designer Michael Kennedy has brought back the dying art of album illustrations and designs. The I-Deck is a retro touch screen music player that displays album art. Simply dock your iPod or mp3 player into the I-Deck’s base and use the touch screen as a scroll wheel. You can select, fast forward, skip, and play your tracks. Then watch as the display features your track’s album art. The I-Deck comes shaped as a post-modern gramophone, complete with a large loudspeaker. The design is minimalist akin to the stark, white configuration of the iPod.
