The total of recalled notebook batteries hits 7.5 million as Fujitsu announces it will switch out 287,000 of the Sony-made llithium ion cells in its PCs. The list of affected models is here.Â
Then there’s HP, which is promising its notebooks are O.K. Absolutely, positively won’t burst into flame. Famous last words.
If all this talk about notebook fires has you kvetching, and if you don’t happen to own an HP, we suggest you get yourself one of these lovely Hello Kitty fire extinguishers. These are cute and lighthearted enough to turn any fire into an insignificant annoyance.
